It has been a mild winter on Pender. The community has been busy creating events for Christmas and the Pender Christmas Market. The Pender Island Legion has been busy with dinners and events in December. Sometime in January we will see new events and meat draws on Saturdays at 4:00, All are welcome, you don’t need to be a member.
The winery is now open all year and has dinners now on the weekends some days with music. I’ve seen music events come back to the pub and trivia nights as well. Poets Cove Spa is open and the road connecting the islands will be fixed this year. I hear there will be a new trail connecting the ferry from Driftwood, more to come on those details.
The island feels more connected than ever. With the road repairs underway, it’s going to be easier to explore the different corners of the island. The Poets Cove Spa is a quiet retreat for many. What’s exciting is news about the new trail. It’s not just a path, it’s a new island experience. Pender is our getaway and second home and its great to see that it is growing.
